ABOUT
The Job Coach

Since 2005, The Job Coach has embraced the role of opportunity match maker, helping people move from underemployment or unemployment into meaningful, sustainable careers that support their families and futures.
At the heart of The Job Coach is its belief that opportunity doesn’t take vacations, so preparation cannot either. The organization provides workforce readiness training, resume boot camps, interview coaching, and job placement services designed to meet people where they are and equip them for the demands of the 21st-century labor market. Through partnerships with schools, nonprofits, reentry programs, and employers nationwide, The Job Coach builds bridges between talent and opportunity, especially for those facing systemic barriers to employment.
The Job Coach was founded by Akisha S. Jefferson, a committed workforce development professional and advocate for second chances. Drawing on years of experience working with vulnerable populations, Akisha saw firsthand how many capable, motivated individuals were shut out of the job market simply because of their histories, circumstances, or lack of access to guidance and networks. She created The Job Coach to change that narrative by offering practical tools, direct employer engagement, and compassionate, results-driven support.
Under Akisha’s leadership, The Job Coach has supported thousands of job seekers in building confidence, sharpening skills, and securing employment that aligns with their strengths and goals. Her approach combines accountability with encouragement, challenging clients to see themselves not as their past, but as contributors to a stronger workforce and community.
Today, The Job Coach continues to grow its impact, remaining focused on one clear mission: to empower and equip people so they are marketable, employable, resilient, and recession proof.
